Sears Hill foot bridge returns to downtown Staunton

It's was condemned and closed to foot traffic three years ago, and removed a year after that. The Sears Hill bridge was returned Monday after it's refurbishment.

Crossing over the railroad tracks behind the Depot Restaurant, the bridge has been a local icon for years. Many have stood on it as the train passed beneath, and it's a shortcut from the Wharf area of downtown Staunton to the Sears Hill neighborhood overlooking the city. The steps still need to be installed but the Sears Hill bridge is almost ready to be in use once again.
